There are several ‘lightbox’ plugins available to view images in attractive ways on websites. These range from galleries to carousels for displaying a collection of images.

With the new WordPress 3.0, it is easy to include a thumbnail image that is related to an individual post and use the plugin to make viewing the full size image convenient on viewer demand. My personal favorite is the “Fancybox” plug-in.  You can not only customize the view and background transparency, but also choreograph the speed and motion it uses in the transition.
